Mini Chefs Program
Mini Chefs program offers students a unique opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of nutrition in a fun, interactive, food-based setting.
ABOUT MINI CHEFS PROGRAM
As a collection of community-minded food-lovers, Gusto 54 Restaurant Group is passionate about enriching people - especially children- with the capacity to eat in healthy and sustainable ways.
We created the Mini Chefs program to foster health literacy and food equality while cultivating foundational culinary skills in a fun, interactive, and educational environment.
WHERE WE ARE
Housed at Cafe ZUZU, Mini Chefs in 2023 focuses on collaborating with Regent Park-based organizations.
Currently the Mini Chefs curriculum is designed to be a 6-session, 1/week after school program for students grades 5-8.
THE FUTURE OF MINI CHEFS
We envision a world where middle school children across the city of Toronto can explore healthy food alternatives that are accessible in their communities while fostering fun and creativity in the kitchen.
Our goal is to reach as many inner city students as possible by expanding the Mini Chefs Program across the Greater Toronto Area.
A CALL FOR SUPPORT
Currently, the average cost for one student to participate in the Mini Chefs program is $100.
In order to expand our Mini Chefs program, Gusto 54 Restaurant Group is seeking program sponsors - both generous individuals and/or businesses - to provide school-aged youth with an opportunity to learn about food, nutrition, and kitchen skills that will last a lifetime.
PLEDGE YOUR SUPPORT TODAY
Our goal is to raise $2,500 in sponsorship funds in order to run our next Mini Chefs program in the Fall of 2023.
CURRENT PLEDGE STATUS
Currently, we have received $2,000 in pledged support for Fall 2023 programming.
